Mindfulness is the ability to be fully present, aware of where you are and what you’re doing, and not overly reactive or overwhelmed by what’s going on around you. It is also described as the psychological process of intentionally bringing your attention to experiences occurring in the present moment- free from judgment. This can allow for a state of focused presence that fosters a sense of calm and control.
